Silence is a very powerful tool for communication. It saves you from shame. How? Saying something you’re not sure of. Saying something for people to know that you’re an “updated person”. Search for the truth before you spit out the lie or it’s even best not to say anything at all. Also, it’s easy to talk back when someone provokes you. Replying the person in a harsh way doesn’t make you different from him or her. You’re just the same. If you feel you have to reply your opponent, you can do that gently. Otherwise, hold your peace. Sometimes, silence is all you need to prove yourself. It’s unnecessary to talk back especially in cases where profane words are used. Don’t put yourself in a situation where you’ll regret for saying something you can’t take back. It’s painful when people get hurt. They’re humans too. Talking from experience, learn to be silent in the heat of an argument (Message me if you want to know more π). It calms you down and helps you to deeply reflect on your act. Learn to apologise when you’re at fault; whether silent or not. It prevents more quarrels from arising. Some people say quiet people are more dangerous when there’s a squabble π. Well, it doesn’t apply to everyone. Master the art of knowing when to be silent dear. Make use of it.
